Lalu Yadav and Stalin asked Rahul Gandhi not to quit. Called it “BJP Trap”.

Congress President Rahul Gandhi offers his resignation on Friday from the post and party is trying to change his mind. Adding to this RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav and DMK chief Stalin asked him not to quit calling it BJP trap.

Yesterday Stalin and Lalu issued public statements that Gandhi should continue as party chief. If he quits, this would be a benefit to BJP and lose to opposition.

On Tuesday Stalin called Rahul and appealed him not to give up as party president. Stalin said to him that Congress had lost the election but he had won the hearts.

At the same time, Lalu Prasad Yadav termed Rahul’s offer to resign as “BJP’s Trap“. He said that it would be a suicidal decision not just for Congress but for all the political opposition forces fighting against RSS. He warned him that if a non-Gandhi was elected as Congress president, Modi-Shah would call him as a puppet of Gandhi Family.

Rahul offered his resignation after the bed performance of Congress in Lok Sabha Election 2019 and CWC denied it (Read Here). But Rahul is firm with his decision and asked CWC to look for a new party president.

Party’s all big leader are rushing to him to change his mind. On Monday, party treasurer Ahmed Patel and general secretary K. C. Venugopal met Rahul Gandhi and asked him not to step down.

On Tuesday Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot and state unit chief Sachin Pilot visited Rahul’s residence. Sources said that they met party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi, not the congress president.
